AWC Congratulates the Youth Chef Team from “Central-Thailand” for Their Victory in Winning the Royal Trophy and Becoming Champions of the “Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024” at the “Phenix” Project
Bangkok, 31 August 2024 – The atmosphere was vibrant at the announcement ceremony of the “Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024,” an international competition to find the best young chef teams. Under the concept of “United World Cuisine in One Competition,” this event marked the first-ever global competition of its kind and the official debut of the “Phenix” project, the World’s Food Wholesale Hub with the largest food lounge in Pratunam. It was organized by Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC) in collaboration with the Chefs Association of Thailand, the World Association of Chefs Societies, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, and partners of the “Phenix” project. The goal of the event was to discover highly skilled young chefs for the global culinary industry while promoting the development of a quality new generation, supporting Thailand’s food industry as a Soft Power, and paving the way for Thailand to become a global culinary hub. The team from “Central-Thailand” won the championship and received the Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with a prize worth more than 1 million baht. The award ceremony was presided over by Mr. Michael Harith, Chief Commercial Business Officer at Asset World Corp Public Company Limited, alongside Mr. Assawin Kumvang, Managing Director Operation – Phenix at Asset World Corp Public Company Limited, Mr. Somsak Rarongkham, President of the Chefs Association of Thailand, Mr. Willment Leong, Continental Director for Asia, Chairman World Chef without Borders World Association of Chefs Societies and Mr. KK Yau, VIP Chief Judge of Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024. The event took place at the Phenix Grand Ballroom in the “Phenix” project.
Throughout the intense 4 days, 32 hour competition under the concept “United World Cuisine in One Competition,” the first of its kind in the world, a total of 16 teams from 12 countries across 4 continents participated. The countries included Australia, Greece, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, the Maldives, South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, and 4 teams representing the 4 regions of Thailand. They competed to be crowned the top young chefs, showcasing their skills, flavors, and techniques in a full-scale culinary battle. The competition took place in a Hot Live! Cooking format, with real-time scoring at every stage. The contestants were challenged to create international dishes from 16 different countries, crafting both authentic and modern Chef’s Table-style meals. More than 2,560 dishes were prepared. Every team gave their best effort throughout the competition, but the top four teams with the most outstanding performances and flavors came from teams’ Central-Thailand, Northeastern-Thailand, Northern-Thailand and Cambodia, respectively. This marked the successful conclusion of the inaugural “Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024,” ending with smiles and lasting friendships between all the participants.
